Two 3.4km underground tunnels linking Britomart, Mt Eden and the western line, with new underground stations at Aotea and Karanga-a-Hape. Doubles the city's rail capacity. Practical completion was achieved at the end of June 2026 and the line opens to passengers on 13 September 2026.
Bus rapid transit between Panmure and Botany via Pakuranga, including a new bridge over the Tamaki River and priority lanes. The first section (Panmure to Pakuranga) opened in December 2021; the remaining stages are under construction with completion expected in 2027.
A new 7km two-lane road connecting SH1 at Redvale to Whangaparāoa, with a 4.6km shared walking and cycling path. NZTA announced in March 2026 that opening has been delayed to 2029 due to the complexity of the bridge over the Weiti River.

An 18km bus rapid transit corridor linking Auckland Airport, Māngere town centre and Manukau to Botany, connecting with the Eastern Busway at Botany and rail at Onehunga. The route was protected in 2025 with designations confirmed in the Auckland Unitary Plan; the project is now in detailed design and procurement.
Extending the electrified rail network from Papakura to Pukekohe, enabling electric trains on the southern line and new stations at Drury and Paerātā.
A third rail line between Wiri and Westfield to separate freight and passenger services, improving reliability on the southern and eastern lines.
New electric-hybrid ferries and terminal upgrades across the Auckland ferry network, reducing emissions and improving passenger experience.

Extending weekday afternoon southbound bus lane operating hours from 4pm-7pm to 3pm-7pm from 7 September 2026, plus a part-time right-turn ban at Memorial Avenue (7-10am, 3-7pm weekdays), a full-time right-turn ban at George Street / View Road, and a new raised pedestrian crossing at George Street. Consultation held April-May 2025 (290 submissions). Albert-Eden Local Board did not support the bus lane hour extension; AT escalated to decision makers and approved on wider network benefits.
Extending weekday afternoon T3 lane operating hours (Manukau Road and Pah Road) and bus lane operating hours (Great South Road) from 4pm-7pm to 3pm-7pm from 7 September 2026, plus a short clearway extension on Manukau Road north of Silver Road. Consultation held May-June 2025 (235 submissions). Albert-Eden and Puketāpapa Local Boards did not endorse the operating hour change; AT escalated to decision makers and approved on wider network benefits.
